Grand Rapids Best Italian Ice
What is Italian Ice?
For those of you who have never experienced Italian Ice here is a quick description of this wonderful frozen confection. Use your imagination just a bit. First think of the texture of ice cream or sherbert. Next, think of that texture in your favorite fruit flavor. Finally imagine that amazing texture and flavor without any dairy. It’s a satisfying treat that won’t leave feeling like you need a drink to wash it down. There you have it Italian Ice, a treat that has been around for well over a hundred years. It’s now making it’s way to West Michigan.
Italian ice is referred to by different names. In French it’s called Sorbet and in Italian, Sorbeto, but in the end it’s all the same thing. We call it Italian Ice because it’s a more fun informal description. No matte what you call it, we are sure you will love it!
Now that you understand just what Italian ice is, the best and traditional East coast way to enjoy it (If you’re from Boston, New York City or Philadelphia) is in a pleated paper “Squeeze Cup”. At Barry G’s we have kept this tradition.
